Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev secured his initial championship for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has had a torrid season, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with former coach his previous coach.

Presently training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks the player's first trophy since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface after that period of that year.

Success also signifies he has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 various events.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to win a title is especially meaningful," said world number 14 the champion.

"This title is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, including in the German tournament earlier this year.

The player's counter-punching strategy and frequent reactions on the tennis court had led commentators to doubt if his capacity to compete at the elite level was concluded.

But the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete positively, backed up by an better serving game.

He fought back from a deficit in the first set against the tricky opponent, taking four of the final five games to take the lead.

The competitors traded break points in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his first professional victory, took control to push for a decider.

He rescued 4 initial chances in a competitive third set before Medvedev broke to 15 to secure the win.

Suitably, he earned victory with a point at the net, with his opponent incapable to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
